Urban Stars

We all have a fixation with stars.  Whether they're in the sky or walking on the red carpet, we cannot keep away from them, because from an early age we've been taught the stars are the highest thing to aspire too.

And at the moment, stars have managed to find themselves all over the catwalks.  If you're not brave enough to have them embellished all over your clothes, then pick star accessories.

And now on to the opposite...

When I was a teenager, my style could only be described as Rock Chick.  Thankfully, I grew out of it, but sometimes having an eye for all things dark isn't so bad.

I was browsing in Urban Outfitters and saw this skirt.  My mind started darting through my wardrobe to see what it would go with.  Despite my rails and rails of pretty shirts and floaty tops, it seemed that I could only concentrate on band T-shirts.  So I spotted this Guns n Roses t-shirt on my way to the till and immediately bought it.  I must admit, it's not for everyone, but for me it's certainly a blast from the past.

Sunday Jewels

Globe, Dragonfly, Blue Beads, Beaded ring and Peacock ring from Accessorize.  Earrings from H&M
I know many people will disagree with me, but I find Autumn and Winter difficult seasons to accessorise well.  The main reason for this is that sometimes I don't care about looking good - I just want to be warm.  So instead of wearing pretty clothes for the sake of fashion, I tend to dress in many layers (otherwise my hands will go blue), and opt for jewellery to add that extra accent to the outfit.

Today I popped in to Accessorize and found some amazing finds.  The Globe necklace and the Peacock ring are my definite favourites.  The bold colour of the blue against the statement objects attached to each piece, catch the eye making them the focus of your outfit.

The stud earrings from H&M are a jewellery box must.  These compliment any outfit and just like the rest of the jewellery, complete the look.

Wardrobe replenishments, beauty buys and the oversized ring

Saturdays are my wardrobe replenishment days, and despite the amount of times I tell myself that I must save money, it never really happens.

And today I bought: A red satchel, furry gilet and tweed mini skirt from H&M and some necessary make-up essentials from Benefit.

Furry gilets reared their ugly heads back in the Autumn of 2009, and this year they seem to be everywhere again.  Gilets will forever be style fads, and I certainly don't want to invest fully in a wardrobe item that is so fickle among the catwalks.  It just cannot be trusted as a fashion staple, so this white, furry one for H&M satisfies the fashion pages, but at the same time keeps your bank account happy.

I'm a huge fan of Benefit's b.Right skincare range.  I've used the Triple Performance facial emulsion since it came out, and I find it very difficult to switch to other moisturisers.  This smells great, gets absorbed easily and is the perfect base for make-up.

Anyone who knows me would know that I'm a lipstick girl.  Lipglosses are a rare purchase for me, but when I saw this collection, I just couldn't resist.

And finally...that other ring from Louise Roe's Collection at StylistPick

New Fashion Crush: StylistPick.com

Sometimes it's difficult to re-invent your style or to keep things fresh when all you do is go to the same stores, persuse through the same styles, and shop in the same sales.  Just like a dwindling and passionateless relationship, getting out of a style rut is difficult, but essential.

The only problem is that cutting back on your fail-safe shopping is hard to do, especially when there's nothing to move on to.

Which is why new shopping websites are the first place your should try.  Let's face it, the High Street isn't miraculously going to be filled with brand new chains that hold shiny, beautiful new clothes that break your routine of going into the same shops.  But the online world does this.  Every single day.

And StylistPick is my recommendation.  Loaded with a wonderful selection of different accessories, you'll never be stuck in a style rut again.  Just log on, take the fashion quiz, and be presented with your very own showroom.  It even contains some pretty impressive stylists too.

Ophelia bag - StylistPick

Once I got that email telling me my very own showroom was finished, I was straight on there.  And my goodness were they right in what they chose!

Seconds later I find I'm at the checkout, incredibly excited because I'm buying this patent red Ophelia bag.
When it arrives, StylistPick have even added a gorgeous charm bracelet as a thank you.

Unlike other online shopping arrivals, when my Ophelia bag arrived, I was not left disappointed.  What you see on the website is what you get on your doorstep.

Louise Roe Collection - Miami - StylistPick
A mere week after my first purchase, I find myself back on the website.  This time it's to see the new Louise Roe collection.  I instantly fall in love with Miami; a jewellery set of 2 statement rings and a cuff.

And packaged like a perfect parcel.  Just the thing you want to see when you get back from work.

Hey Moshi Moshi!

If you're between the ages of 4 to 8, you'd know exactly what the title of this post is referring to.  If you don't fit into this age group,  don't have a child, don't know any young children or work in a toy company, then you're probably a bit lost.  But not to worry, dear friends.  Because unless you fit into any of the groups listed above, there's no need for you to know.  All you need to do is get this watch.

Moshi Monsters watch RRP £9.99
There's nothing like a good ol' slap watch to remind you of the playground, and the great thing is, that due to the popularity of this brand, no matter what age, you're always in fashion.

And now on to more adult things...

River Island - £35
...like this River Island bag.  With a surge of colour, this statement handbag perks up any outfit.  I've worn it with a monochrome shirt, dark jeans, and flat shoes.

Oh, and the Moshi watch of course!
