The Future's Bright. The Future Glistens.

Both nail polishes and lipstick by Paul & Joe from www.beautybay.com

Hello Beauty Bay!  I have finally found a place to quench my everlasting make-up needing thirst.  I absolutely adore this lipstick in Uptown Girl by Paul & Joe- a warm coral shade that adds heat to the wintery days.

The two nail polishes are also sublime.  Easy to apply and long lasting, these shades are perfect for some Christmas sparkle.

Nars blusher in Cactus Flower and Nars Mini Soft Touch Shadow Pencil Set - www.spaceNK.co.uk

Since my first year of university, Space NK and I have had a deep, passionate affair.  It's one of those powerful ones with undeniable chemistry that you cannot tame, nor resist.  Over the years, it has played its part in helping me find the right lipstick, the right nail polishes, and once or twice, the right man.  It has now become my haven for this time of year.  So much in fact, the the shop advisers in my local store actually know my first name.

My favourite brand of the moment has to be Nars.  An eclectic collection of different shades, it's perfect for a demure, damsel in distress look just as much as a rock chick, damsel in a dress look.

Today I bought a creamy red blusher in Cactus Flower.  It leaves your cheeks with a shy girl flush - blendable and smooth, it lasts all day.

I also bought their new collection of shadow pencil sets. From silvery and copper shades, to seductive purple and blues, this collection is the chosen one for a sultry, glam look this season.

Lipsticks, Nails and Patterned Tights

Not everything that glitters is gold, and you know what, not everything that glitters needs to be gold either.  Whilst shopping in Bentalls, Kingston last Saturday, I was mesmerised by the Gossip Girl Nails Inc Collection, and I immediately had to get my hands (or fingernails to be more precise) on The Blair Collection.

I'm a big Gossip Girl fan, and Blair is by far my favourite, so the choice was never about the colour, but about the character.  And having applied it, I couldn't have chosen better.

The base coat of a dark, forest green (Blair nail colour) is only accentuated by the clear, shimmering glitters of the top coat (Privileged nail colour).  Yes, my nail are a little chipped - this was taken after a long day at work.

And on to the tights...

Pattered tights are a big thing at the moment, so I thought I'd try a pair out.  I found these in H&M and immediately thought they were perfect ... in a paved driveway sort of way.  Not my favourites, but please let me know what you think.

I also treated myself to a lipstick on Saturday.  This is a very special lipstick, because (and now you'll work out how much of a sad geek I really am), it's my 50th Mac Lipstick.  For those of you who don't know, I have a lipstick database to keep track of them all.

A glossy, neutral colour with added sparkle, it's the perfect lipstick for this time of year.

Look who's here to greet you...

I love it when I forget I've ordered something, and there it is greeting me when I come home from work.  On Friday, these two surprises were waiting on my front door step.  StylistPick is definitely my first choice for bags at the moment.

And to go with the burgandy bag I had to get Eye Gotta! by Benefit, as well as these cute, sparkling earrings from Accessorize.  Looks like my Autumn will be all shades of purple.

Eye Gotta! is the daytime sister version of Eye Wanna!. I propose you get both.

Urban Stars

We all have a fixation with stars.  Whether they're in the sky or walking on the red carpet, we cannot keep away from them, because from an early age we've been taught the stars are the highest thing to aspire too.

And at the moment, stars have managed to find themselves all over the catwalks.  If you're not brave enough to have them embellished all over your clothes, then pick star accessories.

And now on to the opposite...

When I was a teenager, my style could only be described as Rock Chick.  Thankfully, I grew out of it, but sometimes having an eye for all things dark isn't so bad.

I was browsing in Urban Outfitters and saw this skirt.  My mind started darting through my wardrobe to see what it would go with.  Despite my rails and rails of pretty shirts and floaty tops, it seemed that I could only concentrate on band T-shirts.  So I spotted this Guns n Roses t-shirt on my way to the till and immediately bought it.  I must admit, it's not for everyone, but for me it's certainly a blast from the past.
