I heart H&M

I've often found that as soon as the new fashion season turns and brand new styles pop up everywhere, I'm unleashed and go out seeking for the perfect Spring look even though it's mid February and snow still hasn't melted.  H&M has been my one-stop-shop for a while because amongst their casual tops and essentials, you can find some amazing catwalk copycats and for a mere steal.

Lipsticks, Nails and Patterned Tights

Not everything that glitters is gold, and you know what, not everything that glitters needs to be gold either.  Whilst shopping in Bentalls, Kingston last Saturday, I was mesmerised by the Gossip Girl Nails Inc Collection, and I immediately had to get my hands (or fingernails to be more precise) on The Blair Collection.

I'm a big Gossip Girl fan, and Blair is by far my favourite, so the choice was never about the colour, but about the character.  And having applied it, I couldn't have chosen better.

The base coat of a dark, forest green (Blair nail colour) is only accentuated by the clear, shimmering glitters of the top coat (Privileged nail colour).  Yes, my nail are a little chipped - this was taken after a long day at work.

And on to the tights...

Pattered tights are a big thing at the moment, so I thought I'd try a pair out.  I found these in H&M and immediately thought they were perfect ... in a paved driveway sort of way.  Not my favourites, but please let me know what you think.

Pink High-waisted skirt: River Island
Black top: Uniqlo
Tights: H&M
Shoes: stolen from my mother
Bag: StylistPick

I also treated myself to a lipstick on Saturday.  This is a very special lipstick, because (and now you'll work out how much of a sad geek I really am), it's my 50th Mac Lipstick.  For those of you who don't know, I have a lipstick database to keep track of them all.

A glossy, neutral colour with added sparkle, it's the perfect lipstick for this time of year.

Red Autumn

I have a thing for red.  I always have done.  Red lipsticks.  Red nails.  Red accecories. Red wine.  Even red fruit.  If you describe something as either scarlet or crimson, chances are, I'm going to want it.

Principles at Debenhams - £45
So when I peeked into my mum's newely bought Debenhams carrier bag, I knew I had to have this bag.  How could you not want it?

1) it's a delicious berry red, with orange trimming which accentuates the colour, yet at the same time makes it look demure.

And 2) It has the cutest charm on the front of it, which my friend kept saying (as I swung it in his face on the way to dinner) that it looked like it said 'Kledi'.  Which obvously it doesn't.

I struggle with work bags as I always want something that shows proffesionalism, but at the same time doesn't hide the fact that I'm 23.

If you want a timeless statement bag without breaking the bank, this is it.

And this is how I wore it.

I teamed it with this gorgeously elegant, dark red jacket from River Island.  It's classically cut so goes with anything and the colour adds life to any outfit.

I've chosen to wear a short-sleeved black tunic from New Look, and charcoal leggings from River Island (which are the warmest things you will ever own).

The nude Kurt Geiger shoe boots break the dark, Autumnal colours and add a softness to the outfit.  Had I stuck to black tights and shoes, the outfit would have looked too teacher-esque.  And you don't want that.  Unless you're a teacher.
